Website migrations can be a tricky task and depending on the size of the project, require some advanced planning.
I’ve completed quite a few migrations during my career, and have always spent some time before starting any movement planning precisely what needs to be done.
The last thing you want is to forget to move an important set of data, or account for some downtime.
For every website migration, I use a template I created in Sketch that displays every task, an estimate of how long it takes to complete and the assignee. I export a PDF to send to my client and print out a copy for myself to stick on my wall and check off as the migration progresses.
I thought this would be useful to other designers/devs and so I’ve made it available for purchase as a customisable Sketch template.
